Hawzah News Agency – Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesman Saeed Khatibzadeh refuted the baseless allegations made by the US State Department in its annual report against Iran.
Releasing repeated and baseless reports does not create any legitimacy for such reports, Khatibzadeh said.
It is clear that there can be no expectation from the US administration that is addicted to lies to express the existing facts and realities, and therefore the biased, political and interventionist nature of this report is clear to everyone and to the Iranian people, he added.
Stressing that the US administration, with its history of war, coups, aggression, assassinations, kidnappings, economic blockades and killing the innocent people around the world, has been a major human rights violator and that it is by no means appropriate to speak of transcendent concepts such as human rights, he said the United States sheds crocodile tears for the Iranian nation as its crimes against Iran, including the downing of a passenger plane and inciting domestic violence to assassinate people and officials over the last decades, and a concerted effort to deprive the proud Iranian nation of its basic rights is alive in the Iranian people’s minds forever.
US’ unilateral coercive measures, including illegal economic sanctions, which have become a clear example of economic terrorism against the Iranians and one of the main obstacles to the import of essential medicines for Iranian patients, have led to gross violations of the rights of the Iranian people.
Khatibzadeh termed the US regime's claims hypocritical aiming at achieving its illegitimate political goals.
The direct order of the then US’ President to cowardly assassinate the martyred General Qasem Soleimani, the hero of the fight against terrorism in the West Asia, well illustrates the terrorist nature of the United States, He emphasized, the Iranian diplomat said.
The US administration has turned a blind eye to gross and systematic human rights abuses within its own country and its allies, he noted.
Everyone has repeatedly seen how racial discrimination against minorities and African Americans occurs systematically and widely in the United States, which in turn has led to widespread protests by blacks and people in the country, Khatibzadeh said.
The unbridled violence of the US’ police and the murder of blacks in front of the public expose the US government's anti-human rights approaches, and more regrettably, the US response to these human rights abuses has been merely a show, he added.
The Islamic Republic of Iran, based on the standards of domestic law and its international obligations, has always moved towards realizing the rights of the great nation of Iran and the promotion of genuine ideals such as true human rights, he stated.
Such baseless and hypocritical reports will not cause hesitation in this regard and the Iranian government and people determination to build a dear and proud Iran based on their religious and national values and principles, he stressed.
